A Sweet Suprise!

As stated in the post below...
It was becoming a really big DRAG of a Monday...
Until I got a text message that said...
"Wanna go to lunch?"
From none other than my BFFE!
We went to Chilis, I had steak
Chilled, talked, ate
And then it was back to the grind.
But my Monday is now so much better than it was!

Shirts and Their Different Faces

Before the new year I had purchased this shirt.

Ordered it online, it shipped to my house, Tried it on, hated the color against my white skin.

So, I took it back and got it in BLACK.

Only to try it home and have it be rejected by K and D

But, it was kind of an ill fit...

Hugged me in ALL the wrong places.

But the black one continued to hang in my closet.

Until yesterday when I finally decided to take it back!

I took it back and much to my fancy

I found a cuter shirt

in my favorite color.

Cant beat that!

yeah... I'm goofy. But you all love me :)

This shirt has gotten much better reviews than the one above did.

Plus, it can be used as my St P day shirt!

Because the one I got from Target just isn't working out.

and yes, I am in the bathroom at work.

Thankfully no one walked in on me taking pictures of myself...

that would have been embarassing!

This is a new necklace my mom gave me by suprise

She sent it home with Kristen on Tuesday night

I am delighted by it

The picture doesn't do it justice

Not to mention I am far from being an excellent photographer

But take my word when I tell you it's pretty.

Remember When?

The other morning I was having a bowl of Fruity Pebbles
I usually am more of a Lucky Charms kind of girl
But I was feeling Fruity Pebbles when I was grocery shopping the day before.
Something amazing happened when I was pouring my bowl of Fruity Pebbles...

A Prize came out of the box!!!

Just like back when I was a kid!

It has been FOREVER since I shook some cereal out and had a prize land out on top!

I was thrilled

Estatic

Joyous

Kidlike

Remember when you were a little kid and that would make your whole day?!

Well, it made my whole day.

Thank you Fruity Pebbles for that one moment

Where a rice krispie bar came out on top of my cereal.

Little I know, but still it was awesome!

Crafty Corner

I love crafting.

Love it.

So much, that I have become addicted to it.

This last week I have made these 4 items above...

And have more to come...

My favorite out of these is the L U C K Y blocks

It was my first time using stencils... so don't point out all my flaws.

I stole the idea from another blog.

And got to decorate my desk with them since my room mate didn't want me to bring them home.

The Family craft is for my furture home (as are most of my crafts)

and the block writing is for my hair dresser Ashley Rose

I had joked when trying to do the Princess twist that

"Practice makes perfect and perfect makes a Professional"

She wanted it on a pillow.

I don't sew.

So I put it on a wood block.

Still needs to be painted and the Family one needs a few touch ups as well...

But, I thought I would share my talent with you!

Instead of hiding them under a bushel.

Carmel's Box Braids

I had an accomplishment this weekend

I did hair for the first time

It was strenous

It took much patience and approximately 2 hours to do

But, I was able to box braid sweet Carmel's hair.

She was an angel through most of it

But you can't expect a 4 year old to sit through 2+ hours of hair doing

Without some minor complaints or whining

At the end, she told me she liked me braiding her hair

I was thrilled

I might help Cailin out more often with doing the girls hair.

But the agreement is that if I help, I get the easy head

Carmel.

Don't be given me Claire and her massive mane.

With box braiding, I also learned how to twist

But, I don't think I can take credit for being able to twist, until I do a full head of it.

So sweet Carmel,

I will see you in a month for our next hair doing event!

As you can see she was not thrilled nor very photogenic after we were done and I wanted pictures to document my success. Maybe next time...

Introducing: The Princess Twist

That's right.

I have my OWN "signature" hair style.

Regardless of the fact it is very similar to the French Twist

It was originally done by Kristen...

But perfected by Ashley Rose.

She did give me instructions on how to do this hairstyle...

but I am having a hard time getting it down.

So, until I get it down, and can post "how to" instructions

You all get to just admire from afar

And be jealous that I have a Signature Hair Style,

And You dont.

Dear Dad,

I miss you.
Today was hard.
Hard as in, get out of bed hard.
Most of the day was spent watching tv, crying, and laying in bed.
Drinking diet coke.

It has almost been two years. But it has felt like a lifetime.
I still struggle to find happiness.
There is still an empty hole in my heart.
Crying is a regular past time.

I miss your laugh.
Your smell.
Your humor.
You.

For some reason I can't get those last few moments with you out of my head this week.
I think about our last night together, our last words, the last I love you's.
Then I cringe when I think about that Saturday morning.
And the blurr that came after that day.

I miss you terribly.
I sleep with the quilt of your clothes every night.
Sometimes I wish things could be different.
That you could still be here.
Everybody says everything happens for a reason.
I guess that was the case with our situation.

I wish you were here.
Desperately.

Gnomeo and Juliet

I picked up Mel today and we headed to the Theater to see

Gnomeo and Juliet!

I love that she is my movie buddy

Especially for movies that are a little below my age limit...

Because then I have a good excuse to go see them!

Popcorn, Sprite, Diet Coke, a Movie, and time spent with Lil' Sis!

Who could ask for anything more?!

February 18th is a special day for our family! It's Grandma's Birthday!

All of us got together last night at my Mom's house for Grandma's birthday celebration.

We had turkey sandwiches! And all of the necessary sides of course!

(Jello, Potato Salad, Cheese Bites, and a delicious Green Salad!)

Present Opening! Grandma was thrilled to have gotten a gift certificate for the Daisy Maids to come to her house! Everybody likes a clean house! Especially when you don't have to do all the work!
Baby Owen was also a star gentleman and got Grandma a present for her birthday.
He got her some gorgeous earrings!
What a stud!

It wouldn't be a birthday without making a wish and blowing out the candles!

It was a fun night last night having all of us together as a family to celebrate Grandma.

She is amazing and does so much for all of us!

I hope you enjoyed all of the birthday festivities

Baby Owen

He is 8 months... pushing 9 months though..

And he has gotten so big!

He wants to walk so bad... but according to his mom he psychs himself out and gives up

Out to Lunch with a Friend

Today I got to go out to lunch.

With my best work friend KATIE

I recently switched my 30 minute lunch to an hour lunch

So now, we have about the same lunch time... it's about 15 minutes off. But, when played right, we can have the exact same lunch time. ie: Taking an extra call right before you are supposed to be at lunch.

We went to Rumbi

Had some chicken, rice, veggies, and their super delicious sweet Salsa and chips!

We talked

We laughed

We had a great time!

I think this might be the beginning of us being regular lunch companions!

Valentines Outfit #1

For all my 20 years I have been alive,

My parents have always been my Valentines

And I have always been gifted with Candy and Clothes

This year, my Mama especially spread the love to me

And I got TWO outfits and candy

We also hit up the Texas Roadhouse

Even though we waited for a good hour + to eat

I think it was well worth the wait.

I am in love with my two new outfits

A bonus is that the brown cami under this shirt is a slimming cami

Can you say, double plus?

Paired with a cluster pearl necklace and a good hair day...

I think I am looking pretty dang good

If I do say so myself.

Daniel and His Birthday

Daniels Birthday was over the weekend.

Bathroom Re Invented

Over the weekend out bathroom was Re Invented.

And I am in love with the new changes.

I think the best part is... I made all the decor...

Who knew a toliet could look so good?

She goes to school for dental assisting

And works at a dental office.

A New Developed Love.

I have recently developed a new love of Crafting...

I really like coming up with the creative ideas and browsing the craft store.

So for Valentines Day I made the above for my Future Hubby.

Because lets face it.. I better do all my crafting now while I have the time and the money than when I am married and have kids, Right?

Live well, Love much, Laugh Often

ok so I know the phrase is live well, laugh often, love much... but, I ran out of room on the Often (the F was a lot larger than I expected.. so I didn't have room for the dots) I still think that I like it however. My ideal place for it would be in the bathroom... and then these probably stacked or one slightly higher than the other in the middle... But it was a fun little craft that I just had a whimsical idea to do and thought I would share! Remember, I am not the crafting goddess, I am just trying different things out. Once it is hanging up somewhere nicely in my home I will take another picture to let you know where it's rightful place now is.
