A Molly Story...

On Friday I got to watch Molly and Nathan while Eric and Mandy went out to dinner. We had pizza, watched movies, messed around, and played. It then became pajama time, because I was ready to be in my pajamas and had in fact, brought my pajamas. So I go upstairs to get the kids, and when I come back down, literally THREE minutes later, Molly had CHUGGED my waterbottle of coke. Which was filled up to the top, at 24 ounces. Mind you, the water bottle is a camel back one where you have to bite at the nozzle for you to suck some drink out. I knew the child liked coke.. but SERIOUSLY that was amazing. She is a child after my own heart. Needless to say, I was quite suprised she went down to bed that night as easily as she did....

Winn Claybaugh and a Change...

Winn Claybaugh is the dean of all paul mitchell schools and he came to talk at Provo because our school is known as the Paul Mitchell
"Harvard" It's the first one of the Von Curtis chain to be declared Paul MItchell. Winn also happens to be our "Principal" Denny's brother. He came and gave a GREAT motivational speech to all of us. He even picked me out of a crowd and said that just by my appearance, he would be willing to put me in a high end new york salon! Without even knowing anything about my skills! I about DIED! He really made me realize that anything is possible in this industry, as long as you have confidence in yourself. Confidence is usually something I lack to the EXTREME and replace with INSECURITY, but I"m working on it, especially after all of the confidence boosting he did that day at school. I had him sign the back of my cutting cards (which are all of our diagrahmming systems and different hair cut techniques you can do) because I feel like right now cutting is the best skill that has come second nature to me. I didn't want him to just sign his name, I wanted him to write something he felt was the most "inspiring and unique". Thus because the quote above.

On a Second note..... Here is my next latest hair change! It's kind of an on going story.... If you look back on the pictures taken of when I first cut my hair, you will notice that one side is uneven compared to the other. It's been driving me and ashley NUTS. So ashley has tried to keep evening it out as it grows. As for the color, my hair had been through a lot and had become this.... I guess naturalish looking brown. I wasn't in love with it and had been DYING to find a color I wanted. I knew I wanted to go darker, but I didn't know what. So our color specialist who is also our Phase 2 teacher at school was doing a basic all over color class and I asked to be her model and that she could do whatever she wanted as long as she went darker. Above is the result. I wish I could tell you the exact color it is, but she repigmented and did the color all in the same bowl so like 6 tubes of color were mixed in. It's basically DARK brown with hints of violet in it. I Love. The cut.... That story begins yesterday. And very "of the whim". I had been toying with the idea of bangs (because we all know when I do one thing... somethign else folows.) But didn't know if I wanted to go straight across, go drastic swoop, or keep it at the slight swoop it was. So I went to my teacher Brandon (who is one of our texture specialists) to see what he thought. He sat and thought about it, and since I was leaning more towards straight across bangs, his opinion was to give me a different cut, that would match the "edgy" bangs. And, he also, not quite so bluntly, mentioned that a different cut would help with the lacking in the cut I currently had. So, I said you can do whatever as long as you don't go to the EXTREME of short and I have my straight across bangs. He decided to not really go shorter, just to give it some more layers and some added texture, and as he likes to say "make my look like a high fashion hair stylist, which is what I need to be!" He also said that it will help building my clientele. I just think it's fun and a nice little change... Above is the result. I am still getting used to it... still trying to figure out which of the fifty billion ways to style it I like best... but everybody at school loves it, and I don't hate it, I am just having a hard time falling in love with it because it's SO different.

I also don't think you can make a good enough judgement off this picture as it isn't the most flattering or best one that could have been took...

Halloween 2011

Punk Rocker and the Mad Hatter

My Melanie. I was touched that she picked to come trick or treating with me and the girls over trick or treating with her friends.
I love being her big sister.

Punk Rocker (Mel) Mummy (Carmel) Mad Hatter (me of course) Rapunzel (Claire)

This pictures cracks me up every time... She was a dang good Mummy

Sweet Rapunzel

The 3 of us... I look weird in that make up and smiling.

Halloween was fun this year, I LOOOVVEED my costume and think it was the best idea I've ever had. I won 2 costume contests with it, My school one and my ward one! And both were best OVERALL costume! I got so many compliments on it! I was a little sad putting it away this year. But next year will have to top this year for sure! Mandy is definately the Halloween Queen. I got Melanie and we went and had dinner at grannys because Cailin had invited us over for soup and apple dumplings with a few of her friends. After the feast we went trick or treating. Sad story, Melanie came with us, and I guess at one of the house's she waited while all of the little kids went in front of her, and then when it was her turn, the people closed the door on her! HOW RUDE is all I have to say. We think it's because they might have considered her in the "too old" range, but I still think it's ridiculous. We trick or treated for about... an hour and fifteen minutes? I think? Carmel and Claire LOVE Melanie and so it was lots of fun. Them three would run up to all of the houses together and have a gay ole' time.

Funny story (to even out the scary story) we came to one house that had 3 scream people up by the front door. Melanie declares that they are going to scare us, but I've decided that they look too good to be real. Who was I kidding considering how great MY costume was??? So, they all go up there, and sure enough, the 3 scream people come to life. All they do is go BOO and jump at you a little bit. Carmel SCREAMED and made a big huge loop around their yard running as fast as she could. The best part is that in her loop she made sure to include the front door where she could get her candy LOL

Next years costumes have already been decided. I am hoping they will still stick.....

That Jessica

We went to Cafe Rio ago because me and Mandy both had free meals. It was Jessica's first time and you would have thought she hadn't ever ate in her life! She started cracking me up because she folded up her tortilla with everything still in it (she had the pork salad because who WOULDN'T for your first time ) and just started chomping away.
That's all I have on her.
I still am trying to get used to her...
That Jessica.
