Mel's Perm!

Melanie has been dying to get her hair permed all summer long. The plan was to first get it before the cruise for the cruise, but that didn't work out. So, it finally happened this last Thursday! I think she looks stinkin' cute. She also made me laugh because in the summer time, Melanie is a fish. She's always at some pool or another, or at 7 peaks this year. So when she went in for her perm, Samantha (our hair lady) told her she had WAY to much chlorine in it and had to do what I think is a Chemical Strip. She loves the perm, and I really like it as well. She is a super cute all grown up 6th grader!

Home Plate

At school they call Homework "Home Plate". I wont have very much of it, but will have a few projects for the first 6 weeks while I am in Core. Core is where you learn all of the basics of hair and all of the techniques. After Core is when I go onto the floor and actually start doing things on real people, not just on my doll head. This home plate was a poster on what we wanted to take out of hair school, and what we wanted to learn. Here is my list:

*Make lots of friends
*Learn all of the basics, techniques, and styles, for every hair type
*Ethnic hair
*Mens hair
*Kids hair
*Short hair
*Up Dos
*Long hair style
*Make up

And those are just a few! I am excited about this new step into my future and really feel that it is the best thing for me to do right now! However, I highly doubt that I will wear all black ever again....

Reminiscing

Kristen will appreciate this picture... Remember how Allie's blinds were always broken?? Well, with all of the miracles occurring in the household, the blinds have been fixed!

Allie in her old room which she swears will be hers again when she is done with school, and which I am totally ok with and completely approve of.

The room mate fall pictures... Haven't left our mantle still last fall I think.... They might have for Winter but then right back up. I guess before the new ones move in I should probably get to taking that stuff down.... It's crazy all of the memories here already!! Bitter sweet people... BITTER SWEET!!!

The beginning to a new end...

Are you seeing what I'm seeing???? A CLEAN HOUSE! The bitter sweet news is that my room mates all moved out this past weekend. And I was shocked because they moved out so quickly and one of them had 3 years of stuff cooped up in this house. I was really excited because I was going to have the whole house to myself for the rest of the summer. But, word on the street is that I have 4 new room mates moving in TOMORROW! That means it will be a full house again, each room will be taken. I am excited and nervous.... Hopefully new friendships will be made! And hopefully we are able to keep the house looking this great... Me and Allie seriously almost did the happy dance we were so excited at how nice and clean the house is! We didn't know it had this kind of potential!

I'm so Glad when Allie comes home!

Allie has graced me with her presence for the summer! She is hoping to work for this lady she cleans house for because it's good money and would make being down here and not at home worth it. So she is my temporary room mate. And I LOOVVVEEE having her around. Especially since the others have packed up and gone! She has made herself at home with her little area to the left of my bed LOL and with her gallon of milk in the fridge :) She is here for 6 weeks but has 2 vacations in between, but she is here long enough for me to get my Allie fixin and it's always nice to have somebody to keep company with!

First Day of School!

Miss Melanie started the 6th grade this last Tuesday. I can't believe where the time has gone. She used to be the tiniest little thing sitting on the kitchen stool wanting to have her hair french braided by me. When her hair was PAST HER BUTT. And her "wink wink" which was a purple and white blanket that came everywhere she went. Good memories. she is a great sister. Likes to hang out with me, is fun to be around, and is just the sweetest cutest thing. Hope your 6th year of school is great Mel!

My first day of Paul Mitchell was this last Tuesday. I am THRILLED to be going to school. I love everything about it and think it was a great choice. I don't regret it one bit. I will have to tell you more about it in other posts, but this one is just dedicated to the first day of school. I am starting my new future at Paul Mitchell and Mel is moving up in the world to the 6th grade!

Summer at it's Worst

I've had this mosquito bite for about 2 in a half weeks. And it BUGS. And ITCHES. And WONT GO AWAY. Despite the huge amounts of cortizone cream I put on it, it wont budge. It's still that big, and it just wont go away. It's right behind my knee cap. Even in Mona I didn't get bitten as bad as this one is. UG.

The Purple that Once Was

At the beginning of this month, possibly the end of June, I had Ashley Rose put some fun purple in my hair. And it was just that, Fun. But, I didn't love it. I had been on a big purple phase and thought that I would just adore the color in my hair. I didn't. Which was ok, because when you swim, apparently it sucks the temporary color out of your hair. So the purple lasted.... maybe a week? And then turned green on the cruise. NOT ok. So we fixed that, but for Ashleys sake I blogged it.

Silliness Still Reigns

On one of our very many Target trips before they went to California and I went on my Cruise, Carmel had taken out my sunglasses and was being goofy. Being silly = getting your picture taken. I love that they are on backwards LOL. And if you take a picture of one of the twins in something, the other one wants THEIR picture took, hence cute Claire. She wasn't being silly, she posed like the cuteness she is.

Jeffy the Trekker

Jeff is in the middle. And I can't even get over how dirty his legs are. YUCK. Anyways... I picked this picture I saw on facebook because it cracked me up. One of the ladies in our ward was a ma and pa and took this picture. It's her husband, Jeff, and another boy I can't remember the name of. I guess that Jeff had requested a massage after a long day of pulling that hand cart! LOL. Jeff came back alive and partially well... He definately is a trooper. Didn't really have a whole lot to complain about. And knowing Jeff, he probably took care of everyone and everything. My mom and I decided that we don't know what we are going to do when he is gone for 2 years :S I guess we will just make do.... because he has to go for those 2 years. Love my Jeffy!

Mona Pictures Part 4

We headed up to Mona today so that the girls and Cailin could have their pictures taken in the Lavender fields in their white dresses. Don't worry, a professional photographer was hired, these are just what my camera was able to capture. I also got to have my yearly pictures with the girls taken as well, and it was nice because it was a "pre photoshoot before the photo shoot" where we did the other scenery across the street from the fields. Lauren also was present, and I got a few shots of her, but the winners are with Cindy the photographer. I think they all are going to turn out and I think all of us look great!
